On 17 June 2009, AVMAC was founded by two retired Naval Aviation Maintenance Officers to provide premium aviation consulting services to the government and private industry. Bert Ortiz and Don Buzard’s partnership is not by coincidence. Having known one another for over 20 years and teaming on numerous projects, they have led integration efforts in both Navy and Marine Corps aviation programs. In this endeavor, they leverage their extensive expertise to assist program managers to integrate and improve products for their customers.

AVMAC was formed with the help of their Registered Agent and Business Attorney, Lee Handford as a Limited Liability Company registered to do business nationwide through the state of Virginia. Home based out of Chesapeake Virginia, AVMAC is centered in a fleet and military hub with access to provide its clients real time assessment of capability and integration of a wide variety of products.
Joining and rounding out AVMAC’s power team is Michael Augustine, CPA,PLLC the firm’s accountant and financial adviser.
